Dead Accounts Tickets - Music Box Theater NYC

Dead Accounts Tickets

Now that Katie Holmes is finally free, she will be making her much awaited return to the performing arts in November on Broadway. Katie Holmes teams with Norbert Leo Butz in Dead Accounts, the new comedy by Theresa Rebeck. The play is directed by Jack O’Brien.

The story has a small number of characters. Lorna, to be portrayed by Katie Holmes, is a single woman on a diet who stays at home with her parents to help her mother take care of her bedridden father. Her brother Jack returns home after a long time, with a large sum of money. The family, struggling in their finances, later finds out that there is a back story to where he got the money from.

During the show, the mother consistently reminds the daughter that she would never be as good as the son. The men in the story also tell Lorna that she does not need to be on a diet. The visit from Jack’s wife, Jack’s refusal to see his father, and the revelation about where the money came from are all very interesting aspects of the story.

The show is primarily a comedy, but some of the issues portrayed in the story are very serious. The effect of the global and regional economy on a middle class family, and the individual crises faced by the characters are dealt with in a way that does not diminish the value of these issues. Some characters have a crisis of faith; others struggle to fight their urges, all that has been done in a way that does not weigh the show down.

The play has been performed in Cincinnati earlier this year with a different cast. The reception and reviews urged the producers to make a few major changes to the show, and the new and improved version with the star studded cast is will be performed in November, as mentioned earlier.

The story occurs in Cincinnati, and there are several references to the Midwestern lifestyle, ethics and way of thinking. However, the author wanted everyone to be able to connect to the show’s characters. So the influence of Midwest culture can be felt throughout the play, but it does not overwhelm the show. Viewers from Cincinnati will be able to get the occasional references, but the play is for everyone in general.

Critics and theatergoers alike are eagerly anticipating the play. This will be the first time Katie Holmes returns to the stage in many years, so the first few performances are expected to be sold out. However, there are a few tickets available for the first week of November and still many tickets available for later dates.
