As time goes on, Christine becomes the object of his affection and obsession. He terrorizes and threatens the opera house management in order to elevate Christine’s position.

When Christine’s childhood friend Raoul shows an interest in her, the phantom abducts him and his friend, and threatens to kill them. Christine goes to their rescue and the audience gets to learn more about the phantom and why he acts the way he does.

The show has won many awards, and is that point where playing the phantom is the biggest dream of most theater actors. Phantom of the Opera is a must-see for any new theatergoer.
