What Makes Basketball So Special for All?

It’s no wonder why basketball is one of the most acclaimed sports among the youth. Necessitating agility, vertical jumping ability, a proper body balance, and quickness, basketball is a fast-paced game that requires immense focus and flexibility. Evolving over the years, from a classic to a modernized sport, basketball has undoubtedly become one of the most widely viewed sports all across the globe. Sporting the players’ beautiful combination of strength and finesse, basketball is a game of style and substance, showing grace and power in the air. We should obviously rule out ski jumping and sky diving, in pursuance of validating the aforementioned statement but taking into consideration a pure and unassisted way, the basketball players fly like none other. We love to watch the games, sitting tight on our seats, as we witness the basketball players jump high in the air with the brown ball, which seems inhuman. Given the grace of the players and the fast pace of the game, it is no brainer to understand why so many NCAA basketball tickets are sold before every single match.

Being one of the most popular sport in Europe, Asia, and the USA, basketball continues to drive its faithful audience off their seats. Having engraved its name among the top-most popular sports of all times, basketball enjoys being the sport that can be played both indoors and outdoors in the same manner. Most importantly, you do not need any special kind of sports gear to play basketball, which makes it a very affordable sport that almost anyone can play.

Tips for Your First Broadway Show

So you’re finally going to that Broadway show you’ve always dreamed of. You want to make sure it’s perfect. Maybe you’re going alone, maybe it’s a date with your significant other, or maybe you’re heading out with a group of friends. No matter how you’re attending or which of the terrific shows you’re going to see, these tips will help make it the best night of your life.

1. Don’t just be on time; be early.

Generally speaking, you want to be early by about a half an hour. Your ticket is going to list the time that the curtain goes up. Doors are going to open about 30 minutes before that, and that’s when you want to be there. The lines for these shows can be long. It can be chaotic. You may need to check your coat or do a number of other things before the show. Getting there when the doors open means you’ll be comfortably in your seat when the play starts.

2. Plan your transportation in advance.

Maybe you’re driving, getting a cab, or using Uber. Maybe you’re taking the subway — often touted as the quickest route — or a bus. The key is to make your plans in advance. A slight transportation hiccup can make you very late. This is especially crucial if you’re still going to will call to pick up the tickets, as you then may want to be an hour to 45 minutes early, not the 30 minutes noted above.

3. Follow smartphone etiquette.

In short, put your phone away. Don’t wear earphones. Don’t use an iPad or any other tablet. It’s even best to turn these devices off entirely. That way, there’s no chance that an alarm goes off or someone calls in the middle of the performance. There is no tolerance for that sort of thing on Broadway.

4. Talk to the ushers.

They’re in the theatre to help you find your seat. It’s faster, even if you have to wait for them, to ask for directions. This is your first show, so you’re not familiar with the venue. The last thing you want is to spend 20 minutes searching for your seat, only to be walking around when the lights go down. Worse yet, you don’t want to accidentally sit in the wrong seat and be told to move right before the show.

5. Slow down, take your time, and enjoy everything!

Today’s culture often focuses on rushing from one event to the next. Don’t add stress to your life, whether you’re heading to the theatre, waiting for the doors to open, or standing in line to leave. Just slow down, appreciate that things happen a bit more slowly on Broadway, and drink in the experience.

Now that you know what to do to make your outing go perfectly, check out the excellent theatre tickets we have to offer.

James Monroe Iglehart Stepping Down as Genie

James Monroe Iglehart Stepping Down as Genie

The Genie is one of the most iconic characters in Disney’s Aladdin, and he’s been played by James Monroe Iglehart for years. In fact, when the show first hit the stage, Iglehart won a Tony for his performance.

However, he’s now planning to join Hamilton, so he has to step away from the role. The last time he’ll ever be the Genie is February 19. That performance will take place at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

However, the production has another star who is more than ready to step into the role. That is Major Attaway, who has been the standby for the part and knows it already. He’s familiar with the entire production, as he’s also the standby for Babkak and the Sultan. On February 21, he’s going to take over the Genie role on a full-time basis.

This will be a Broadway debut for Attaway. Regionally, he’s been in The Mikado, Ragtime, Big River, Little Shop of Horrors, Hand on a Hardbody, Rent and Ain’t Misbehavin. He’s from Fort Worth, Texas.

When asked about the new job, he said:

“Making my Broadway debut in Aladdin was an affirmation beyond imagining. I get to play a catalyst for joy and hope, and I’m really looking forward to moving into the lamp on a full-time basis; I’ve got some BIG TEX-an ideas for redecorating!”

Five of the original stars have signed contracts to keep performing for the next year. Jonathan Freeman will continue to portray the villan Jafar while Courtney Reed continues playing Princess Jasmine. Babkak will still be portrayed by Brian Gonzales and the Sultan will be played by Clifton Davs. Finally, Don Darryl Rivera has extended his contract as Jafar’s sidekick and pet, Iago. Other cast members include Steel Burkhardt, who will be playing the role of Kassim, and Brad Weinstock, who will be the character Omar.

Naturally, with Attaway moving up the ladder, a new standby was needed. That honor will go to Deonté L. Warren. It is going to be his debut on Broadway. He’ll focus on the role of Genie and Babkak, and he’ll take that job on the 21st, when Attaway moves to the full-time position.

Aladdin is one of the most well-loved plays of all time. If you’d like to see it in person, before or after the changes to the cast, you can get excellent Broadway tickets from us today. Let us help you find great seats and an even better price.

Jason Aldean “They Don’t Know” Tour

Jason Aldean says, “It only takes a couple weeks off the road before I get that itch, and I’m already feeling it.” The country superstar just announced the stops for this year’s megatour, which will hit more than 50 cities across the continent beginning on April 27 in Toledo, Ohio.

Aldean will bring Chris Young along for the ride, as well as two newcomers, Kane Brown and Dee Jay Silver for opening acts. Aldean also said, “We’re going to spend some time switching the production up to be bigger and louder than anything we’ve ever done. It’ll be cool to have Chris back out with us, and Kane is the right guy to get the fans riled up.”

In September, Aldean released his latest album, “They Don’t Know,” and he just learned that he will be featured in an exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. That exhibit is supposed to go up in May.

While the actual dates for some of the tour stops haven’t been released yet, Aldean has announced that there will be special stops this summer. In June, he’ll headline the 2017 Taste of Country Music Festival and Country Jam 2017. Aldean has released 24 singles and seven albums. Eighteen of those singles have hit No. 1 on the Country Airplay or the Hot Country Songs charts.

In 2016, Aldean was named Entertainer of the Year at the American County Music Awards. Other awards include Musical Event of the Year with Kelly Clarkson for “Don’t You Wanna Stay”; “My Kinda Party” took Album of the Year in the Country Music Association Awards in 2011; and Aldean won Male Vocalist of the Year in 2015 at the ACM Awards.

If you want tickets to any of Jason Aldean’s concerts on the tour this year, you’re going to want to sweep them up right away, as there will be many shows that sell out completely –- with good reason!

“Spend the Night with Alice Cooper” Tour

“Spend the Night with Alice Cooper” Tour

Ever considered what it would be like to spend the night with rocker Alice Cooper? Some fans will have that chance when Cooper takes the stage on his “Spend the Night with Alice Cooper” tour, kicking off on April 21 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Fans who purchase VIP tickets will have a chance to spend some time one-on-one with Cooper after the show. The description says the winner will get to enjoy a “balloon toss.” Other stops on the tour include Tupelo, Mississippi, Springfield, Illinois, Norfolk, Virginia, and Durant, Oklahoma. The tour is scheduled to end with a final show in Columbus, Ohio, on May 16.

For more than 50 years, the heavy metal, glam and shock rocker has inspired many others to follow in his footsteps to the darker side of music. He’s still wearing his trademark dripping thick mascara and jet black hair. Some of his hits included “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “I’m Eighteen,” and “School’s Out.” It didn’t take long for Cooper’s magic show-themed concerts to attract a following. In 2011, the original band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Cooper would open for Motley Crue’s final tour in 2014-15. In 2016, Cooper would once again make headlines again as he played his running gag of campaigning for president of the U.S.; however, he purposely goes out of his way not to be political and calls himself “the biggest moderate you know.”

Fans of Alice Cooper can expect the same musical experience as in years before, with terrific magical stunts and some horror thrown in for effect. With his incredible history within the music industry, Cooper is one musician that simply must be seen at least once. Tickets will sell out quickly to this tour and attendees will not be disappointed. Cooper puts his all into each and every show. That keeps fans coming back for more.
