Exchange Program Swaps Performers Between Germany and Vegas

The United States and Germany are going to be involved in a cultural exchange program that will give performers on both sides a chance to go overseas. According to the reports regarding the new program, it will take place this fall, in November.

The program is called the American German Cultural Exchange Fellowship. It’s been made possible by German philanthropist Dorothee Hennings-Holtmann, who has funded it. The exchange will be between the Brandenburg State Theater Orchestra in Cottbus and the Las Vegas Philharmonic.

The basic idea is that guest performers — and not the entire group — will be sent between the Las Vegas Philharmonic and the Cottbus State Theater Orchestra. The LVP will send Alexi Kenney, a violinist, to Germany, while the CSTO will send Tobias Feldmann, who is also a violinist, to Vegas.

Feldmann is going to play on November 5 of this year, at the Smith Center. He’ll be putting on Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D Major, along with the LVP. Kenney will play between November 18 and November 20, at the Brandenburg State Theater. He’ll be doing Barber’s Violin Concerto.

This is the first year that the fellowship has been used, though it could pave the way for many more exchanges over the years. Not only does it give members of the bands a chance to play overseas and experience what it’s like to be with another group, but it also gives the rest of the group a chance to learn from the performers who arrive and work with them. Even for those who aren’t actively travling, it should be an educational and eye-opening experience that can help them all get better at their craft.

For fans, it also means a chance to see world-class musicians play without the travel. Those in the United States who have always wanted to see Feldmann live, but who did not have the time to travel all the way to Cottbus, will find it convenient to hit up Las Vegas instead. This will help to keep the performances fresh and entertaining, and it’s sure to be a huge draw.

Soul2Soul – The World Tour 2017: Tim McGraw and Faith Hill

Tim McGraw and wife Faith Hill just announced Soul2Soul – The World Tour 2017, celebrating the highest-grossing country music tour of all time, Soul2Soul II. It’s the first tour for Faith Hill since 2007.

It has been 17 years since the first Soul2Soul tour. This 65-city tour will kick off on April 7, 2017, in New Orleans. McGraw and Hill will have plenty of music from which to create set lists, as they have released 21 albums between the two of them. The pair has accumulated eight Grammy awards, 29 Academy of Country Music Awards, 16 American Music Awards and many others. Both have several acting roles under their belts as well.

The dynamic country-music couple has dominated the music charts since the early 1990s. Some of the top singles released by Tim McGraw include, “Just to See You Smile,” “Live Like You Were Dying,” and “It’s Your Love.” For Faith Hill, a sampling of her top singles include, “This Kiss,” “Breathe,” and “Like We Never Loved at All.” The two have collaborated on many hits, including “Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me,” and “Let’s Make Love.”

In 2000, Tim McGraw was arrested along with Kenny Chesney in Buffalo, New York, after Chesney attempted to ride one of the police horses. The officers thought Chesney was trying to steal one of the horses and as they tried to arrest him, McGraw came to his aid. Each of them racked up an assault charge in the incident, but later both charges were cleared. Perhaps as commentary, Hill appeared on stage in a police officer’s uniform to lead McGraw off the stage during a concert at the George Strait Country Music Festival held several weeks later.

There is little doubt that the third installment of the Soul2Soul tours will be as huge of a success as the first two. You can get your tickets for Soul2Soul – The World Tour 2017 here for one of the 65 cities in which the tour will be holding concerts.

Game of Thrones Concert

Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience

Twenty-eight North American cities will soon see the “Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience” tour take the stage. With its massive 80-piece orchestra, drum corps and choir, there is nothing little about this concert. The Emmy-award winning HBO original, “Game of Thrones,” provides the music from its past six seasons. However, the state-of-the-art video screens projecting fire, dragons and more will take this show to the next level.

The show’s composer, Ramin Djawadi, told Billboard that he came up with the idea of a tour when he was playing the showrunners a piece of music. This massive undertaking will kick off on Feb. 15, 2017, at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. It’s scheduled to run through April 2 in Portland, Oregon, at the Moda Center.

Djawadi said that the concert is all about the music, but the addition of a 360-degree stage and the video screens make it exciting and very contemporary. He said that all of this helps the audience enjoy a more immersive, exciting experience. While Djawadi and the orchestra will remain in one spot during the concert, the choir, soloists and percussionists will be moving around.

The idea is to re-live the six seasons through the fans’ favorite music and re-experience some of the most famous scenes. The audience, at times, will feel as though they are in a castle, a blast of fire or a snowstorm. There will be fresh content, too, to bring everything together. The composer, who has been nominated for both an Emmy and an Oscar, said that he wanted more than just showing footage from the show on the screen, with orchestra music as an accompaniment. He’s working to find the perfect balance in order to keep the fans engaged.

Don’t wait to buy your tickets for the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, as this is one concert almost guaranteed to sell out.

Board Game Clue : Musical

The Board Game Clue Is Being Made into a Musical

Did you love playing Clue when you were younger? You may have terrific memories of hopping your pieces around the board, trying to figure out who did it, in what room, and with what weapon. Clue is one of the most famous board games of all time, right up there with games like Monopoly, Risk, and Scrabble.

These days, you don’t just have to play Clue to get in on the excitement. It’s being made into a Broadway production. The Araca Group will take on the project, working in connection with Hasbro Inc., which owns the rights to the game itself. Michael Barra, the President of the Araca Group, made the announcement by saying:

“We are thrilled to be announcing Clue as the next stage adaptation developed by our Media & Entertainment division. Clue is an iconic film with a passionate fan base, and Jonathan Lynn is the ideal collaborator to bring these beloved characters and story to the stage.”

Lynn has plenty of experience, as he was in charge of making the Clue movie back in 1985. It came out through Paramount Pictures. They’re now bringing him on to transform his movie into a stage production. While it may not be exactly the same as the film, fans should expect it to be close to the original since the same director has been put in charge of the project.

This is not the first board game to get this treatment in 2016 alone. Word already came out that Monopoly is going to be adapted for the same purpose. As noted above, it’s another huge game that is probably even more well-known and well-loved than Clue. It probably spawned a fair amount of childhood fights, but people have been playing it for decades.

This shows that Broadway is interested in making plays that have a built-in group of fans. That’s sort of the same idea behind continuing to put on plays like Les Mis every year, or in adapting movies like The Lion King or Frozen for the stage.

Board games are an interesting genre for adaptation, but they certainly do have the fans. They’re also not the only out-of-the-box ideas that have found success. Green Day’s American Idiot album — a smash-hit album from one of the most famous pop-punk bands of all time — was made into a musical, and it did very well. Again, Broadway was able to take material that people already loved and give it a new type of life.

Are you interested in seeing Clue when it hits the stage? Or do you want to get your tickets for any of the other plays mentioned above? If so, we offer the best tickets for the best prices here at Headline Tickets.

Theatre Is Perfect for Date Night

Why the Theatre Is Perfect for Date Night

If you’re looking for the perfect date night, you absolutely want to consider the theatre. Maybe you’re going out on a first date with someone you just met. Maybe you’re going out for your 25th wedding anniversary. The theatre is an ideal choice.

High-Class Atmosphere

There is a wonderful place for low-key date nights to the movies, football games, or something of this nature. However, there are times when you want a more refined, romantic night out. That’s what you get with the theatre. You get to dress up and look your best. The setting is beautiful and you’re around other people in the same situation. Everything is calm, the focus is on the high arts, and it gives you that really relaxing atmosphere that you’re after.

Dinner Date

Another advantage of going to the theatre is that it can be the focal point of an entire night out, and it pairs perfectly with dinner at a fancy restaurant. Hit up the local steakhouse or a wine bar, and you’ll already be dressed to fit in with the dinner crowd. If it’s a first date, you can break the ice and get to know each other over dinner, and then relax and enjoy the show. This is entire evening of romantic fun, centered around the theatre.

Entertainment

If you’re on a first date, you may be very interested in a setting with a built-in form of entertainment. Sure, you want to spend time chatting and getting to know one another, but you may also feel a lot of pressure if you need to make small talk for five hours. At the theatre, you get to wind down and enjoy each other’s company, but all of the focus isn’t on you. This is often why people like going on a first date to the movies, but the theatre provides a more elegant experience and classy setting.

Speaking of first dates, the theatre also gives you instant common ground. It’s an ice-breaker. You can talk about what you loved from the production, what you felt it was missing, who gave the best performances, and the like. Some people go to the show first and then go to dinner, and you can have a fun conversation about what you watched, which helps pave the way into all sorts of other topics. Overall, the theatre makes any date more relaxing and enjoyable.
