The Area Where College Football Is Better Than the NFL

In most areas, professional football is far better than college football. The overall talent level is higher, as a lot of guys who were college stars are just role players in the pros and the NFL stars are the best of the best. The NFL has a much better playoff system — though college is starting to finally trend in that direction with the short playoff it uses now. Plus, the pros are able to work on their craft as a full-time job, so team execution is head and shoulders above college.

However, the problem with treating a game like a business is that it does become a business. Fans expect to be entertained. They come in expecting a high level of play and are quick to boo if they don’t get it. There’s a serious, business-focused atmosphere at a lot of pro games.

And that’s where college football is better. The pageantry and excitement is like nothing you’ll find in the pros. College towns go crazy on game days, people camp out in front of the stadiums, and the whole morning before the game is filled with tailgating, partying, and fun. The level of excitement is off the charts, and it creates an atmosphere that the pros can’t touch.

Part of it comes from the community atmosphere that is bred at a college game. Half of the fans are students and they feel a connection with the team that you don’t get at the professional level. With pros, these are players who are being paid handsomely to provide you with a product. With college, these are your classmates and friends, playing for free, for the love of the game. The town seems to come together before a game, the same way it does for high school football. Even for non-students who come and visit for the day, the excitement will draw you in!

Both pro games and college games have something to offer, which is why football is so huge at both levels, the most popular sport in the country. However, if you’re trying to find the best possible atmosphere, you’re probably going to find it at a big-time college game.

Another advantage is that a lot of college games come with cheap tickets, and we can hook you up with some excellent deals here at Headline Tickets. Questions NFL Teams Must Answer

The Biggest Questions NFL Teams Must Answer

The NFL season is just a few weeks old, and there are already plenty of questions looming over franchises. People love the NFL for its parity and unpredictability, and it will be great to watch how things unfold. Some of the biggest story-lines to keep an eye on include:

How High Can the Patriots and Steelers Climb?

Both the Patriots and the Steelers look like top teams in the NFL. They have great offenses and the ability to win on any given night. However, each of them is missing a huge star. For the Patriots, it’s QB Tom Brady, suspended after DeflateGate. For the Steelers, it’s RB Le’Veon Bell, suspended for yet another PED violation. If these teams are winning without their stars, just how good can they be? They could very well be on their way to a collision in the AFC Championship Game — though the defending Super Bowl champs, the Denver Broncos, may have a thing or two to say about that.

How Good Is Joey Bosa?

The Chargers are a strange team, looking like they could beat anyone and at other times like they could go 4-12 again. They had a highly publicized disagreement with first-round pick Joey Bosa, a pass rusher out of Ohio State, but they finally got him signed. They want him to be the next Khalil Mack or Von Miller.

Can the Panthers Repeat as NFC Champs?

The Carolina Panthers went 15-1 last year, and there was talk that they could go undefeated before a surprising loss to the Falcons. They still won the NFC and made it to the Super Bowl, though, with the best record in the NFL. There won’t be any undefeated talk this year, as they lost the first game of the season to the Broncos, the same team that beat them in the Super Bowl.

However, the Panthers got WR Kelvin Benjamin back from injury, and he looked awesome, even in that loss to the Broncos. With him in the fold, can they repeat as the NFC champs? Other contending teams, like the Packers, Seahawks and Cardinals, have already suffered surprising losses.

Who Will Be That Surprise Team?

There’s a consistent trend in the NFL, in which a team that was dead last in its division the year before ends up winning the division. The Chargers lost the AFC West; could they overtake the Broncos? Are the Dallas Cowboys going to storm to the top now behind rookie QB Dak Prescott and rookie RB Zeke Elliott? Can coach Chip Kelly turn the 49ers around and win the NFC West?

There are tons of story lines in the NFL, and these are just a few, but they’ll be terrific to watch. To do it in person, get your NFL tickets now.

Tom Brady Will Return in Week 5 to Face RGIII

Patriots’ QB Tom Brady Will Return in Week 5 to Face RGIII and Browns

Last year, no one circled Cleveland Browns games as important, unless they wanted to follow the downward spiral that was QB Johnny Manziel. The Browns were not competitive, on the way to getting a new head coach and a new QB yet again. Die-hard fans still watched, but the games didn’t provide much entertainment to the rest of the NFL’s fans. Unless You played Daily Fantasy on Fandual or DraftKings, but that another story.

This year, though, that’s all changed. The Browns are going to be part of one of the most highly-publicized games of the year. Only part of it, though, is because of the Browns.

That game is the Week Five match up with the New England Patriots. Not only are the Patriots one of the league’s top teams, meaning they get a ton of press coverage every year, but star QB Tom Brady has been suspended for the first four games of the season. He’s thought by some to be the best quarterback who ever played the game, so this is a fairly huge suspension.

Brady comes back for that game against Cleveland. He will have a fire under him like no one has seen before, and that’s saying something for a guy with a handful of Super Bowl rings. He’s already reportedly been talking about wanting to win another title this year.

This very well may mean that he has to win every game. It depends how the Patriots do without him. Getting the top seed in the AFC, though, usually takes about 12 or 13 wins. If the Patriots go 0-4 with him on the bench, he’ll need to win the next 12 straight. The game would also be hyped if that happened because the Patriots have been in the playoffs for years. They’re seemingly always at the top of the division. If they’re terrible without Brady, it will be clear just how valuable he is, and everyone will want to see if he can instantly turn things around.

Without the suspension, the Browns/Patriots game would be one that both fan-bases watched, but other fans wouldn’t care so much. It would feel like an easy win for New England. With the suspension, though, it’s must-see TV to watch Brady play again.

To the Browns’ credit, they’ve also revamped their team massively, so some of the hype will be tied to seeing them play against what could be a top AFC team. The Browns have a new coach in Hue Jackson, supposedly a genius with quarterbacks. They have a new QB in Robert Griffin III; there’s a joke about the long quarterback carousel in Cleveland, and they hope the former Heisman Trophy winner and Offensive Rookie of the Year can break the cycle. The Browns will also get superstar wide out Josh Gordon back for the 2016 season; who once led the league in receiving yards, he’ll also be back from suspension

Rams Hot Show in Los Angeles

The Rams Are the New Show in Los Angeles

The Rams used to be a fixture of sports in Los Angeles. They saw Eric Dickerson set the single-season rushing record. They gave football fans a team to cheer for in their own city, rather than turning to the San Diego Chargers or the San Francisco 49ers. Then, just like the Raiders, they left. They bolted for St. Louis, became the “Greatest Show on Turf” and put together a string of the most exciting offensive seasons in NFL history.

For 20 years, Los Angeles was without a football team. This is a city that loves its sports, from the Lakers to the Clippers to the Kings, but not having a football team was brutal. Football has overtaken baseball as America’s paststime, and it just felt wrong that the second-largest media market in the United States didn’t have a team. Not when New York has two — and three, if you count the Buffalo Bills.

But now the Rams are back. They bring excitement to a city that has been starved for it. They’re going to have a new, state-of-the-art stadium that will be one of the best in the league. They bring second-year running back Todd Gurley, coming off of a huge rookie season that already put him in the talk as a top-five back in just his first year.

Perhaps best of all, they have the QB of the future, the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. They moved up to take Jared Goff, the former Cal star who will be at home playing in California. Whether he starts in 2016 or sits and learns like Aaron Rodgers — another Cal start who has turned into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, in large part because he got to sit before starting — fans will get to watch his progress firsthand.

It’s about time that L.A. had a football team again. This is a city that was ready to get back in on the greatest game in the country. The team is in a tough division, they have fierce rivals, and they’re up-and-coming with some of the brightest stars in the game. It’s all being highlighted this year on Hard Knocks, a T.V. show run by HBO that follows the team through training camp. Plus, the practices are being held at U.C Irvine, and it’s free for students to watch.

This is the most hyped season in L.A., and you need to be there to see the Rams start rebuilding football culture in the city. There’s nothing better than sitting at the 50 yard line, with great Rams tickets, and soaking in one of the best things about autumn in America.

Broncos and Panthers

Broncos and Panthers: Super Bowl Rematch September 8, 2016

In 2015, the Carolina Panthers had the No. 1 offense in the NFL, behind the arm — and legs — of QB Cam Newton. The Denver Broncos took exactly the opposite approach, with an offense that struggled consistently and the No. 1 defense in the league. When the two met in the Super Bowl, it was the age-old clash of offense and defense, and, as it so often does, defense won. The Broncos destroyed Newton’s offensive attack, hitting him all evening, forcing him into turnovers, and literally scoring points when LB Von Miller stripped the ball and DE Malik Jackson jumped on it in the endzone. The Broncos won the landmark Super Bowl, the 50th in league history, and Miller was named MVP.

When slating out the 2016 schedule, it wasn’t too hard for the league to know what to do. The first game of the year is a rematch of the last one from last year, the Panthers and the Broncos facing off again in Denver.

Storylines: Von Miller and Kelvin Benjamin

Two of the biggest storylines going into the game, besides the obvious grudge match for the Panthers, revolve around Miller and Panthers’ wideout Kelvin Benjamin. Miller got a $114M contract in the offseason, with around $70M in guaranteed money. It’s the biggest defensive contract ever, and the biggest deal for any player who is not a QB. Sure, Indy’s Andrew Luck got a bigger deal, but QB contracts are in a class of their own and Miller’s is a huge milestone.

Denver has the money to pay Miller, though, because QB Peyton Manning retired, so now there are a lot of questions to answer. Is Miller worth that deal? Can the Broncos win with a defensive face of the franchise, rather than a franchise QB? Did they set themselves up with a dominant pass rusher, or is this a contract that will handicap the team?

On the other side of the ball, the Panthers will get third-year WR Kelvin Benjamin back from a season-ending knee injury. He was terrific as a rookie and then blew out his knee in camp last year. This makes what Newton and company did even more impressive. They had the NFL’s best offense without their best wideout. Now that he’s back, are they going to get even better? Or was last year an outlier, and are they going to take a step back? Cam Newton was best in the second half of the season, but he’s never been known for consistency. The Panthers not only want revenge, but have to prove they’re for real.
