Norah Jones Announces 2016 World Tour in Support of Upcoming Album

Norah Jones recently announced her upcoming world tour beginning mid-August 2016 through the end of the year. The nine-time Grammy Award-winning jazz musician will take the stage along the west coast of the U.S. and Canada, with stops planned in Oakland, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver.

This tour is in support of Norah Jones’ sixth solo album, “Day Breaks,” which releases on Oct. 7, 2016, from Blue Note Records. It features nine new songs and three covers. In 2012, her last album, “Little Broken Hearts,” hit number 2 on the Billboard 200. It was certified Gold in France, Belgium and Canada. She collaborated on an album with Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day in 2013 from Reprise Records. In addition, she has released a compilation album of collaborations with some well-known musicians, including Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, the Foo Fighters, Outkast, Talib Kweli and Herbie Hancock.

In November, Valerie June will join the tour as a special guest for eight shows in Europe and seven more in the U.S. on the East Coast. The East Coast shows will be in Kingston, New York, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Providence, Portland, Maine, and Boston. Her final show will be in Madison, Wisconsin.

The mellow pop sound with soul and jazz influences of Norah Jones has resulted in the sale of over 50 million albums worldwide. Her debut album, “Come Away with Me,” infused jazz with country and pop, and sold more than 26 million copies, certifying it diamond. This album earned the singer/songwriter five Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Best New Artist and Album of the Year.
